Mechanikal weapons

Cygnaran Shockblade

The shockblade is a masterwork (+10) broadsword produced in the forges of Cygnar. The accumulator trickle socket and the inlaid runes in the sword itself mean that for every hit which causes damage, the sword inflicts an A Electrical Critical Hit upon the victim.

The sword, when activated, crackles with electrical energy. The accumulator socket feeds a shocking Rune Plate via arcane conduits within the hilt. With an accumulator fitted the weapon weighs 8lb. Without an accumulator fitted (regardless of the charge held) the weapon is unbalanced (-15 OB)

This set up uses one charge per fifteen hits. It could be ‘cranked up’ to deliver three F Electrical Critical Hits (one grade of crit for each unit of three hits) for one charge. However it is not designed to have its power levels adjusted and this would almost certainly damage the weapon.

These take about a week to produce (from a skilled and experienced producer with all the resources needed [four or five places within the major cities of Cygnar]) and retail for over 2000 gold pieces.

Runehammer military rifle or carbine

This is a primary example of the melding of magic and technology. Built by the Ironside Workshop of Caspia, the Runehammer is a wicked looking rifle or carbine with an accumulator socket and mechanism fitted. The barrel itself appears bulky, wrapped in an insulating housing and arcane circuits.

The accumulator socket feeds a Burning Rune Plate via arcane conduits within the furniture. A masterwork (+10) weapon, examples of this type can weigh up to 18lbs.

Ammunition expended from this weapon causes an extra A Heat Critical for each Critical Hit scored. A fully charged accumulator will superheat ten rounds before it is exhausted.

These take about a week to produce (from a skilled and experienced producer with all the resources needed [of which there is only one]) and retail for over 1700 gold pieces.

The carbine weighs 12lb and has an effective range of 80m (1400 gp plus)

The rifle weighs 18lb and has an effective range of 120m (1700 gp plus)

Assassin’s Pistol (the chosen weapon of the inquisition)

Small Pistol: This weapon’s main virtue is that it is easy to conceal, being only 8 inches long over all. Each cost 400 gp (new purchase price), they have an effective range of 16m (53 ft), and a dry weight of 4 lb. Highly polished black dyed wooden furniture, brass fittings, steel barrel.

Wrapped around the barrel is a silence runeplate. An accumulator socket is in the pistol grip. A fully charged accumulator will silence twelve rounds before it is exhausted. This only makes the pistol and its shot soundless, the target might still cry out, fall into water/onto something loud, a miss will make that lovely ricochet sound

There are no makers marks on these pistols, as no gunsmith actually wanted to be associated with the inquisition and the inquisition itself always a predilection for anonymity.

Urik Brusilov’s Sword

Urik Brusilov was a Khadorian Warcaster who lost his life during the Battle for Thornwood Deeps. This is his sword. It is a two handed mechanikal Great Sword (Arms Companion). It’s wide blade is essentially a huge frostbrand rune plate. There is a cavity in the hilts for two standard sized arcane accumulators to fit, one atop the other. Only when the pommel is fastened is the circuit closed and the powers of the weapon can be activated (twist to activate).

With two charged accumulators in place, the sword can make ten strikes delivering an extra D Cold Critical Strike. With one charged accumulator in place and an empty one inserted to complete the circuit, the weapon will deliver an extra B Cold Critical for ten strikes.

The sword has a +10 bonus for workmanship and design, a +10 bonus for materials and +5 magic weapon bonus. Owing to its unique construction and heritage, these bonuses are accumulative. It is huge and weighs 24lbs.

Cygnaran Stormglaive

The stormglaive is a masterwork (ie +10) halbard produced in the forges of Cygnar. The accumulator trickle socket and the inlaid runes in the weapon itself mean that for every hit which causes damage, the polearm inflicts an C Electrical Critical Hit upon the victim.

The weapon, when activated, crackles with electrical energy. The accumulator socket feeds a shocking Rune Plate via arcane conduits within the shaft. With three accumulators fitted the weapon weighs 14lb. Without sufficient accumulators fitted (regardless of the charge held) the weapon is unbalanced (-15 OB)

This set up uses one charge per fifteen hits. It could be ‘cranked up’ to deliver three F Electrical Critical Hits (one grade of crit for each unit of three hits) for each fully charged accumulator. However it is not designed to have its power levels adjusted and this would almost certainly damage the weapon.

These take about a week to produce (from a skilled and experienced producer with all the resources needed [four or five places within the major cities of Cygnar]) and are strictly military issue only.

‘Mad’ Malek Redgrave’s Military Pistol:

This is a larger, more powerful pistol typically issued to military officers. He’s had over 2,600 crowns worth of work done to it, it’s his baby, and where a lot of his ill gotten gains have been spent. Most of the mods were done either by bribing, bullying or otherwise bringing physical pressure on the gunsmith’s of Corvis. The magical adjustments were made by blackmailing a member of the FOW who was later removed from Corvis by the Order of Illumination.

It is 18”. in length, with a fat barrel. Range 24m (80 ft), 6 ½ lb. It is superbly balanced and well finished, being a +15 weapon.

Each time the action is broken to reload, the loader is faced with an extra plate within the breech – this is the actuating conduit for the various runeplates on the outside of the weapon. It must be re-set after every shot. As with reloading, this is a standard action and requires a successful Craft: Small Arms check.

Option 1: The weapon fires standard ammunition which causes an extra impact crit of one level lower than any mundane critical inflicted and also a shrapnel crit of one level lower then that. These are both magical effects. Using this option will allow five shots from a fully charged accumulator.

Option 2: The weapon fires standard ammunition that is altered in flight and inflicts crush, rather than puncture criticals. Additionally, it causes an impact critical of one level lower than the mundane critical inflicted (this is function of the laws of physics, rather than a magical effect). Using this option will allow ten shots from a fully charged accumulator. This is the setting that Mad Malek leaves it on most of the time.
